Daily Do Good: Wife Writes Book To Help Husband With Alzheimer’s

To help her husband, Vernon, who’s losing his memory because of Alzheimer’s, Willa Robinson wrote a book to remind him of all their happy times together. The book is called “52 Ways to love my man and it contains 26 stories she wrote about him and 26 memories from other loved ones.

“I can see the good that it does with him, by reading the book and looking at the pictures,” Willa explains. “The hope is that he will always remember who we are."

Willa is the founder of independent publisher Knowledge Power Books and says she started seeing the signs of memory loss a few years ago, so she started planning the book. She hopes it will help other couples who are dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

“I usually go through it every day — a section at a time I read,” Vernon explains. “It brings back a lot of memories and different experiences and different people in the book. It’s real nice.”
