Road work is about to shift into high gear in Berks County. PennDOT has big plans for several major roadways this year, including a 175 million dollar plan to improve a stretch of I-78… between the Lenhartsville exit in Berks County.. to the Lehigh County Line. The plan is to widen the shoulders, adding more room for cars and trucks. It'll take 3 to 4 years to complete. PennDOT is also going to continue work on the Penn Street Bridge, and the roundabout that's in the works on Route 222 near Fleetwood.
