Every morning I drive on what is called River Road in Muhlenberg Township. Normally its my running route as well. Its peaceful, beautiful and it's where the river runs free. I have some of my best moments there, idea, brainstorms, a first kiss, deep prayer, and the sighting of his creatures. This morning was no different, I saw my friend the fox, (he is adorable and so tiny) and of course the family of deer. I am sure to keep my high beams on so they know Im coming.
I know the time is coming for them to mate and go a little crazy. They are horny and hungry, one of my listeners sent me an email regarding the information you need for the season.
And I did some research on having a Pet Fox and look what I came across...this right is beauty at it finest. WOW.
And now a letter from Rick:
Jackie: The 1st part of your statement was accurate! As the farmers harvest their crops the whitetails have to start traveling more to feed hence more deer crossing the roads. The actual rut in Pa happens around mid November in about a 2 week period. Most hunters will tell you that we are entering what is known as the pre-rut phase which means the bucks start making scrapes to mark their territories and then they start returning to check them to see if any hot doe’s have left their scent. The bucks tend to travel a lot during this period. Look at the situation this way, if you only get loving for a 2 week period once a year you are going to try to get as much as possible!
