Hi! I'm Scott and I get to play rock and roll and try to wake you up every morning. Radio is something I wanted to do since I was 7 and at 14 I had my FCC license in hand ready to "play the hits". My radio path took me all over until August 10, 1992 when I cracked the mic for the first time at Y-102 and introduced Michael Jackson. Yes, we played him back then.
When not on the air I am a system engineer, play with the latest tech and try hard to find the perfect way to bbq and smoke pork. I'm always up to hear what works for you!
I not only endorse Outten County Chrysler I'm also a long time customer! Check out Outten's current inventory and deals.
DJ Earmworm has put together the top 25 biggest songs of 2013 and made one 5 minute song! Check out the biggest songs of 2013 in one clip!
Oprah has her favorite things and now everyone seems to be coming out with a list. Jackie and I joked about making up our own. All of these are in the would be nice to have, but can live without them category.
HTC One Max : I have been an iPhone user since they first came out, but found I only use it as a phone and camera. The HTC One Max is running Android and I find that I am way more productive on an Android phone. I love Gmail, Google Maps and the Amazon Android App Store where you get a free paid app every day. Its like a surprise every morning! The HTC One Max runs Android and has an awesome big screen and stereo speakers. Available on Sprint.
A newspaper subscription : Despite the move to digital I find that I prefer holding the paper in my hands! I don’t have to worry about notifications to distract me, ads getting in the way of the article, the screen timing out or the constant scrolling.
Char-Broil Longhorn Offset Smoker : Its an awesome smoker! What else can I say?
Sonos Audio Entertainment : I like to think of myself as a digital hybrid person. I love high tech for some things, but low tech for others (see newspaper above). I love my music and the Sonos is a great way to enjoy music anywhere in your home! Its a wireless audio system you control with your phone or tablet. Once you set up a bridge you can move the speakers to any spot you want! You can also have different speakers play different audio! So if you have one speaker in your living room you could play Christmas music on it while listening to us on iHeartRadio in the kitchen!
Nikon D7100 : I have a Canon DSLR, but for the last several years have sacrificed image quality for the convenience of only carrying a smart phone. More and more I am going back to a real camera. I am much happier with the results.
Himalayan Salt Plate : I love items like this! I love to cook and this is for the times I would not be using the smoker!
Nest Learning Thermostat : This and the next item are high tech items I do like! You can lay in bed and turn up the heat! It learns when you are home, when to adjust the temperature and helps your home be more energy efficient.
Nest Protect : A super smart fire alarm! Burn your toast? Wave your hand and it shuts off! No climbing on a chair to pull the battery out!
Celestron PowerSeeker Telescope : To watch the night sky!
Cooking lessons with a real BBQ pro!
Meet Frank, The Squirrel and unofficial Y-102 Mascot! We are not sure if this is the same squirrel that has been sitting on this window since 2006 when we officially named him, but after reading that some can live to be 12 or older its a real possibility.
Sometimes months go by without seeing him, but lately we've seen him more and more! We think he is looking for Susie - who liked to feed them! As you can tell from how close I am he doesn't seem to mind us admiring him!
Jackie and I recently celebrated 10 years on the morning by giving away dinner from the World Famous Pike Cafe and a limo ride from Rhodes Limousine. Sherri from Exeter was our winner and she along with her son Nate celebrated with us last night. Here are the pictures.
